Parking discs

Buy a parking disc and cost

You can buy parking discs from St Helier's Town Hall or the Parking Control Office in Sand Street. Parking discs cost £2.

How to use a parking disc

Parking discs display your arrival time. There are 3 red cardboard discs on a parking disc, which must be turned to show:

  • hour
  • 10th, 20th, 30th minute, or else
  • first, second, third minute, or else

For example, if you parked your car at 10.46, you would rotate the discs to show:

  • [10] on the first disc (hour)
  • [4] on the second disc (40th minute)
  • [6] on the third disc (sixth minute)

If you do not have a parking disc you can use paycards instead.

Disabled blue parking discs

You can use yellow or blue parking discs.

When are parking fines issued

You'll get a parking fine if:

  • any of the details on your parking disc are not visible or are incorrect
  • you park for longer than your parking disc is valid for
  • you stay longer than the maximum time restriction in a parking area
  • you return to the same road within 1 hour of leaving that road
