About industry training
Industry training is a mixture of classroom training and work experience.
We offer training courses in areas such as:
- early years
- Information Life Cycle Management (ILM) business
- care industry
- hospitality
- customer service
These courses are followed by a work experience placement with a local employer.
Training is an important part of the programme and is tailored to the needs of local businesses. It’s delivered by experts and designed to prepare you for your work placement.
Some programmes give you the opportunity to complete qualifications.
If you’re only looking for support with specific skills such as writing your CV or cover letter and job searching, Job Club may be able to help you.

Who can join
Industry training is free and you can join if you’re:
- registered as a jobseeker
- receiving Income Support
- have been living in Jersey for at least 5 years
You’ll need to engage with your advisor and complete all the necessary training you’re booked on.
During your programme
When you join industry training, you’ll be assigned an Employment Advisor if you don't have one already.
Your advisor will:
- support you through your programme
- help you develop your CV
- arrange your work placement
- help you search and apply for jobs
