This Notice is hereby given pursuant to paragraph 4(a) of Schedule 2 to the Insurance Business (Jersey) Law 1996 that:
- On 4 May 2023 the Representors together issued a Representation seeking an Order of the Royal Court of Jersey sanctioning a scheme (the Scheme) under which the whole of the long term insurance business carried on in or from within Jersey by the First Representor and Second Representor is to be transferred to the Third Representor.
- The Representors have made copies of the said Representation and report of an independent actuary (the Report) available for inspection (or for collection free of charge) at all reasonable times at the offices of Mourant Ozannes (Jersey) LLP at the address given below up to and including the date of the court hearing. In addition, copies of the Report can be obtained free of charge until the date on which the Court sanctions the Scheme from Phoenix Life Assurance Limited or Phoenix Life Limited online at phoenixlife.co.uk/transfer23, by writing to Phoenix Transfer Team, PO Box 79408, London, N17 1HQ, or by telephone on 0800 856 4488 (or +44 (0)1733 793287 if calling from overseas) until 5.30pm on 4 October 2023, and from Standard Life Assurance Limited online at standardlife.co.uk/businesstransfer, by writing to Standard Life Transfer Team, PO Box 79408, London, N17 1HQ, or by telephone on 0808 196 6804 (or +44 (0) 1234 298 298 if calling from overseas) until 5pm on 4 October 2023. Any telephone calls after this date should be directed to your business as usual customer contact number.
- The application to sanction the Scheme is due to be heard by the Royal Court at the Royal Court House, Royal Square, St Helier, Jersey on 17 October 2023 at 9am.
- Any person (including any employee of any of the Representors) who alleges that he would be adversely affected by the carrying out of the Scheme is entitled to be heard by the Royal Court of Jersey. If you intend to appear at the hearing before the Royal Court of Jersey, you are requested (but not obliged) to give notice of your intention to do so to Mourant Ozannes (Jersey) LLP as soon as possible and preferably by 8 September 2023, at the address given below.
