South West St. Helier Waterfront Planning Inquiry
The Minister for the Environment resolved on 7 February 2022 that a Public Inquiry is to be held into planning application reference: PP/2021/1969. The application (as amended) seeks planning permission for a proposal described as:
"outline application (with all matters reserved). Demolish existing structures. Phased construction of new development comprising up to 1001 residential units with basement car park; retail, commercial, leisure, arts and cultural facilities; public and private open spaces; new pedestrian and vehicular access; other associated landscaping, infrastructure and highways alterations including relocated slipway and works to the sea wall. 3D Model available. Revised application and description: outline application (with all matters reserved). Demolish existing structures. Phased construction of new development comprising up to 984 residential units with basement parking; up to 31,125 sqm of non-residential floorspace comprising retail, commercial, social infrastructure, leisure, arts and cultural facilities; public and private open spaces; new pedestrian and vehicular access; other associated landscaping, infrastructure and highways alterations including relocation of the slipway and La Fregate, land reclamation and flood defence measures. 3D Model available."

concluding on Friday 19 May 2023.
Any representations in respect of the application will be heard and considered by Mr P. Staddon BSc, Dip MBA (Distinction) MRTPI, the independent Inspector appointed by the Minister to hold the Inquiry.
Anyone who wishes to make a representation, known as a 'Statement of Case', in respect of the application should make their submissions in writing by midnight on Sunday 19th March 2023. A Statement of Case should not exceed 1500 words and should set out the key points which the person submitting the statement wishes to make in respect of the application. Representations must include a name and postal address.
For those eligible persons and bodies that wish to expand on their initial statement of case can submit a more detailed 'Proof of Evidence' before midnight on Sunday 16th April 2023. The Inspector is not imposing a word limit on Proofs of Evidence, but a summary should be included for any Proof exceeding 3,000 words.
