Changes to charging period in Charles Street Car Park

The Minister for Infrastructure, in pursuance of Article 68 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956, as amended, and after consultation with the Connétable of St Helier, gives notice of the following changes to the charging period in Charles Street Car Park. These changes will take effect from 26th November 2024.​

Road Traffic (Public Parking Places) (Jersey) Order 2006

Article 5: Parking Charges

  • Replace 5 (1) with “A person must not park a vehicle in a parking place specified in Schedule 3 Parts 1, 2 and 3 during the pay period specified in that Schedule in respect of the parking place unless a valid season ticket, a valid pay card or a valid permit is displayed on the vehicle or a valid remote payment has been made or in a parking place specified in Schedule Part 4 during the pay period specified in that Schedule in respect pf the parking place unless a valid pay card or a valid permit is displayed on the vehicle or a valid remote payment has been made."
  • Remove 5 (1A) 

Schedule 3 Part 4: Parking Charges

  • Replace the existing entry for Part 4 with “The pay period in respect of the following parking places is the period between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on any day. The prescribed charge payable in respect of a vehicle parked in the parking place during that pay period is 1 parking unit for each period of one hour or part of that period that a vehicle is parked in the parking place during the pay period. STHA2"
