Children’s short breaks

About the consultation

​Following engagement with the Parent Forum about short break services, we have developed proposals for the development of the short break offer for children and young people with disabilities and special needs up to the age of 18 years.

We want to get it right for children and young people and their parents/carers. We believe that people who use our services should be involved in designing them. We also welcome the views of practitioners who work with children with disabilities and the views of current and potential providers of short breaks. We will also be running some focus groups with children and young people who are accessing short break services to gain their views.

We will use your responses to the consultation to:

• guide further work to develop what is practically possible and the best fit for Jersey
• inform the services we commission from 2019 to 2021
