About the consultation

​​​The Minister for Health and Social Services has committed to creating a 3-year Neuroinclusive strategy for Jersey in partnership with Autism Jersey and other relevant charities.

The strategy will identify how we can better support neurodivergent individuals within our community to provide them with better support services and awareness.

To help inform the strategy, we want to hear from: 

  • neurodivergent individuals
  • friends, relatives and supporters of neurodivergent people
  • neurodiversity ​advocates

About neurodiversity

Neurodiversity is a term which covers a range of neurological or developmental conditions including:

  • Autism
  • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia
  • Tourette’s syndrome

Neurodiversity can create challenges with:

  • communication
  • thinking
  • language
  • changes to personality 

Neurodiversity refers to the diversity of all people and can affect people of all ages.

Data protection

Health and Community Services is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This privacy statement outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you participate in our online neuroinclusive (autism and ADHD) survey.

We do not ask for names, dates of birth or any details that can identify you, but we do ask you to provide information in relation to your wellbeing and health, and some information in relation to your ethnicity, gender, and diagnosis. 

The information you share with us will be used to:

  • research and analysis to help us improve public, private and charitable services
  • policy development to help us develop an Island-wide all age neuroinclusive (ADHD and autism) strategy
  • service improvements to enhance the services, we provide and ensure they are designed and delivered to reflect the needs of the community

We may share this information with:

  • Government departments and other organisations that are working with neurodivergent individuals
  • third party service providers who are helping us to conduct the survey and enhance understanding the needs of the communities they serve

All data used for these purposes will be aggregated and no personal information shared
