About the consultation

We would like your comments on plans to make St John's Road safer for pedestrians, particularly school children going to Haute Vallée School.

In response to concerns by the school and community, and with the support of the Parish of St Helier Road Committee, a crossing has been installed where the walking-only section of La Grande Route du Mont a l'Abbé meets St John's Road.

The crossing includes:

  • a raised zebra crossing
  • temporary railing to guide walkers to the safe crossing location
  • bollards to be installed to prevent parking that would be a hazard to those using the crossing
  • new tactile paving

This scheme is a pilot which will be reviewed after the autumn half term, with feedback from this consultation and the community considered before it is adapted.
