Government House staff (FOI)

Government House staff (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by States of Jersey and published on 18 January 2017.

Request

Please could you let me know how many staff are employed at Government House together with their job titles (eg 4 Gardeners, 2 Secretaries) etc. In addition I would be grateful if you could let me know the total (all inclusive) annual cost to the Island of running Government House.

Response

In addition to the Lieutenant Governor, 13 members of staff are employed at Government House.

  • Government House – grounds and transport – four staff
  • Government House – main house and office – nine staff

Given that the number of staff is very low, employee groups have been consolidated to prevent the possibility of identifying individuals. Further detail is therefore considered exempt under Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

The total all-inclusive cost to the Island has already been published in the States of Jersey Annual Accounts for 2013, 2014 and 2015 and was the subject of a previous Freedom of Information request in July 2015.

Cost of running and staffing Government House Jersey in 2014 (FOI)

The year-end figures for 2016 are being finalised and will be published in 2017.
