Request

Was the gift to the Royal Naval warship £25,000 or £2,500 as recently disclosed under an FOI enquiry, (not by me) and what is the procedure or authorisation for such a gift to be made?

Response

The Government of Jersey made a contribution of £25,000 to HMS Iron Duke in May 2015.

This figure included contributions from the Chief Minister’s Department, Home Affairs, Economic Development, Ports of Jersey, and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. The decision to make this contribution was made by consensus.
