No details will be given regarding unmarked vehicles. This information is qualified exempt under Article 42 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.
B
See response ‘A’ above. All vehicles not marked with an * are under 5 years old. During the period 2012 to 2016 the Police purchased 19 cars at a total cost of £355,105 and 25 cars were disposed of at a total income of £63,025.
C
The Police Budget to purchase new vehicles is now a leasing budget. This is because, with very few exceptions, new vehicles have to be replaced with leased vehicles. The 2017 Transport Budget is £242,800 which includes £100,000 for leasing.
D
See response B above.
E
There have been 49 instances of police vehicles involved in accidents since January 2012.
F
Total maintenance spend between 2014 and 2016 was £229,000; this is an average of £6,360 per month. It is not possible within the time limits allowed to quantify which part of the funding was for general maintenance or accident repair or which accidents were the fault of police officers.
G
Three vehicles were written off. Two are marked ^ in the table above and the third vehicle was a Skoda Octavia.
