Regarding the current pilot / trial accommodation at Ocean Village apartments for patients who require overnight accommodation in Southampton whilst receiving hospital treatment, can you please provide the following?
A
What process is being adopted to research patients and evaluate the pilot?
B
What criteria has been set for the evaluation of the pilot?
C
What are the options / contingencies following the pilot?
Response
A
All patients travelling to the UK for treatment are sent feedback questionnaires which we ask them to complete and return via freepost. In addition all patients who stay at the Ocean Village apartments receive a separate feedback form which has been designed specifically to capture their thoughts on the accommodation model currently being piloted.
B
At the end of the pilot, collated feedback of the current scheme will be compared against that already held by the department from Jury’s Inn.
C
No decisions have been taken in respect of our longer term planning for patient accommodation in the UK. All options remain open to the Health and Social Services Department and any decision will be informed by patient feedback which we continue to request and receive.
