I am trying to obtain NHS Prescribing data for GP Practices in the Channel Islands this is by BNF Product, By Month, by Practice. Many thanks in advance
Response
The States of Jersey Social Security Department hold information regarding medicines dispensed in the community by GPs in Jersey. We do not hold data on other Channel Islands.
At this time we are able to make a partial release of data and have provided British National Formulary (BNF) chapter by month for the most recent year.
BNF by month
A partial release is deemed necessary under Articles 25 and 33 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011, considering the nature of primary care in Jersey and the risk of inadvertently releasing personal or commercially sensitive data.
Having researched the background to release of similar information in the UK, Jersey would wish to conduct a full Data Protection Impact Assessment to understand the potential impacts in a small community.
Exemptions applied

Article 33 - Commercial interests
Information is qualified exempt information if –
(a) it constitutes a trade secret; or
(b) its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information).
