B
What are the required qualifications for the post of Hi-Tech Crime Supervisor in the States of Jersey Police and does the current supervisor meet those requirements?
Response
A
ISO17025 accreditation is the mechanism by which Forensic Science Quality Standards are ensured in the UK (as required by the Forensic Regulator). As a non UK force, there is no legal requirement for the States of Jersey Police to gain this particular accreditation, however we are constantly working to ensure that we achieve the same ISO standard of quality assurance. This is achieved through a continuous review of processes, engagement with the UK Forensic Regulator, other UK police forces and Non Home Office forces.
B
The States of Jersey Police are satisfied that the current incumbent fully meets the requirements of the role.
