The current annual salary for a Police Constable on appointment is £35,119. A Police Constable with 10 years of service currently receives an annual salary of £53,923. All salaries are subject to future annual pay reviews.

Police Officers must be at least 18 ½ years of age.

In 2017 / 2018 the annual salary for a newly qualified School Teacher, Primary and Secondary, is £34,578. A Teacher with 10 years of service will receive a minimum annual salary of £45,956. The majority of teachers pass through the threshold to access the Upper Pay Scale. The top of this salary range is £51,017.
Additional supplementary allowances are available should a Teacher decide to take on added leadership and management responsibilities. These increase with greater responsibilities. Therefore, the range of salary for a teacher with 10 years of service is £45,956 to £65,854. This salary range is subject to future annual pay reviews.

Consideration may be given to newly qualified teachers at Secondary level within a specialist subject to be placed at a higher point on appointment. This is set as no higher than point 3. These newly qualified teachers start at up to £39,062.

The current annual salary for a newly qualified Nurse is £37,070. The current maximum annual salary for a newly qualified Nurse is £40,968, and would be reached after six years. All salaries are subject to future annual pay reviews.

The current annual salary for a trainee Customs and Immigration Officer is £30,837 in the first year, £34,719 for the second year, £39,358 for the third year, becoming Officers on £45,612 on the fourth year, subject to passing an in-house knowledge test. A Customs and Immigration Officer will receive the maximum annual salary of £50,261 after a further three years. All salaries are subject to future annual pay reviews.

Ambulance paramedics usually begin their career as Ambulance technicians, with a current starting salary of £32,263, raising to £37,229 after three years. The current annual salary for a qualified Paramedic is £38,134. The maximum pay for this grade is £44,392 and would be reached in three years subject to satisfactory performance. All salaries are subject to future annual pay reviews.
The current annual salary for a Foundation Firefighter is £31,112. There is no automatic progression within the Fire service. Further competencies and examinations can be undertaken to progress up to the grade of Specialist / Senior Firefighter, which has a current annual salary of £44,570. All salaries are subject to future annual pay reviews.

The States of Jersey do not employ Coastguard Officers. These roles fall under Ports of Jersey.
