Income Support for mortgages (FOI)

Income Support for mortgages (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by States of Jersey and published on 29 March 2018.

Request

Since the introduction of Income Support in 2007 can you confirm how many claimants have received payments related to mortgages. Either capital repayments or interest only payments. Breakdown in to each calendar year from 2007 to present day, the number of individual claims and the amounts paid to each claim. Failing that total number of claims per year and total paid. Also confirm who was minister at the time who signed claims off as ministerial decision.

Response

Fewer than five claims have received payments related to mortgages since 2007. Due to small numbers we are unable to release further information as claimants could potentially be identified. Article 25 (Personal information) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 is therefore applied.

Article applied

Article 25 Personal information

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
