Please could you let me know how many calls have been logged through Love Jersey relating to potholes?
B
Also, what is the average length of time between call being logged and work being completed?
Response
A
During the period 1 May 2016 and 4 July 2018, 660 potholes on States of Jersey and Parish administered highways were reported through Love Jersey.
502 were allocated to the Department for Infrastructure (DFI) (Now Growth, Housing & Environment).
158 were allocated to other States Departments, the Jersey Development Company, and Parishes.
B
DFI does not record information regarding the average time taken from the receipt of a call to when the necessary remedial work is completed.
Nor do DFI monitor the progress of pothole reports that are delegated to other States Departments, the Jersey Development Company, the Parishes or those on other land.
DFI do however inspect the potholes logged to them and allocate a priority level to each one. The priority levels and relevant timescales are set out below:
No Action required
Reports are recorded for follow up inspection at a later date
Requires Correction
20 working days for completion
Urgent – Moderately unsafe
Five working days for completion.
Emergency – Severely unsafe
Two working days for completion
In the unusual event of a job not being completed within the target period, the priority level is escalated.
