Ambulance number plate allocation (FOI)

Was the ‘out of series’ number plate J200101 for a States of Jersey ambulance allocated to the Ambulance service at no additional cost? (This number would normally require a payment of £250 to Driver and Vehicle Standards (DVS).

If there was an additional cost which budget was the sum paid from and what was the justification for spending public money in this way?

Response

The registration mark was assigned to the ambulance at no additional cost. It was allocated to assist with the fleet management of emergency vehicles.
