Firefighter numbers and overtime payments for 2017 to 2018
B and C
The release of specific personal salary details is absolutely exempt under article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 (the FOI Law).
To distinguish costs between the various ranks would provide the requester with sufficient information to establish average individual payments. This would be quite specific when the relatively small number of qualifying officers in each group above and including the rank of Crew Commander is taken into account. As such, this information is also exempt under Article 25 of the FOI Law.
The Service does however maintain a breakdown of the underlying reasons behind overtime claims and these are included in the PDF table above.
It should be noted the figures include both cash and time in lieu hours claimed.
Exemption applied:
25 Personal information

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005; and
(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
