Response from the Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (JFRS):

With respect to bariatric patients, the role of the JFRS is to assist the Ambulance service.
Training is provided to JFRS by the Ambulance Service, in line with the appropriate Safe Handling Policy (see Ambulance response).

A working group was formed that created the IAM (Integrated Assisted Move) leaflet. See PDF below:

The Ambulance Service have some equipment (see JFRS response) but can plan a move with the help of the JFRS, Safe Handling Team and Occupational Therapists.
