B
What is the average waiting time for somebody to access the service?
Response
A
Below is the breakdown of referrals received from 2015 to 2018. There is no way of telling how many of these historic referrals went on to access the service in terms of opting-in after referral, or going forward for treatment after initial assessment. From January 2018, Jersey Talking Therapies (JTT) began using a new electronic record system which will allow for greater reporting capability.
Data is not held on 2014 referrals.
2015 - 1852
2016 - 1700
2017 - 1823
2018 - 1700
Total - 7075

Average waiting times are calculated based on the IAPT National Indicator Waiting Times definition. The figures below show the average waits for those seen (assessed / treated) in 2018. This is the time between the referral being received by the service and the person being assessed or beginning treatment.
Step 2 Low severity and low intensity interventions
Step 2 Assessment: 12 Weeks
Step 2 Treatment: 28 Weeks
Step 3 Moderate severity and high intensity interventions
Step 3 Assessment: 22 Weeks
Step 3 Treatment: 33 Weeks
Step 4 Severe and complex specialist psychological intervention
Step 4 Assessment: 22 Weeks
Step 4 Treatment: 29 Weeks
Step 4 provision is not in theory part of JTT but the Specialist Psychology Service for more severe psychological presentations. However Step 4 clients all go through the JTT referrals process.
