Request
In recent years, the States politicians have debated taking in migrants from the Middle East. This was of great debate with Islanders both for and against with several Islanders coming forward offering their homes.
I would like to know:
A
Do the States have any plans or have they held any discussions on allowing any Islamic State brides to reside in the Island and gain permanent residency?
B
Have any Islanders come forward offering their homes as a place of residence?
C
If the answers to the previous questions are "No", why haven't the politicians debated such a matter given in recent times the Island has been so open to immigration.
Response
A
The Government of Jersey has no plans regarding Islamic State brides.
B
The Government of Jersey does not know of any Islanders offering their homes as a place of residence.
C
The States Assembly has not debated matters relating to Islamic State Brides as no politician has lodged a proposal for debate.
