Could you please supply any policies and procedures relevant to the recruitment of temporary or agency workers?

In regard to the recruitment of temporary or agency workers, do you have to be managerial level or above to recruit workers? (For example if you are an administration, refuse collector or social worker would you be able to recruit staff or does this explicitly need to be Team Manager or above).

Can you please describe what grade / job title you have to hold within the Government of Jersey to officially be able to make a legally binding contract with other organisations on behalf of the Government of Jersey. (For example does this explicitly need to Team Manager / Director or above).

Recruitment governance varies by directorate, but it will include an approved vacancy authorisation process signed in accordance with local delegations.

Contracts should be approved by the Accounting Officer or delegated authority. Please see Financial Direction 5.1 below which details the requirement for contract approvals.
