Please provide the detailed record of expenditure by the hospital project team, recorded as their annual accounts presented for audit, for financial years 2012 to 2018, inclusive.

Response

The Minister for Treasury and Resources presents signed and audited accounts each year to the States Assembly for the financial year 1 January to 31 December. The annual report and accounts provide a breakdown of how public money is spent by the Government of Jersey.

The various report and accounts documents for the period covering the Future Hospital project from its inception to 31 December 2017 are available via the link below or in hard copy from the States Bookshop.

The accounts for the year ending 31 December 2018 are subject to external audit and will be published when the audit process is completed. This is expected to be within the next three months.

The Capital expenditure on the Future Hospital project is referred to specifically within tables reflecting annual capital expenditure re Health and Social Services (for example on page 191 of the 2017 Report and Accounts).

The expenditure information is in a summarised form in the report and accounts, reflecting the purpose of that document as an overview of government spending. Some of the Future Hospital expenditure is not capital in nature so is not reflected in the capital section of the accounts.

The most recent FOI response, which sets out a breakdown of expenditure of £41,211,607 to 31 December 2018 (unaudited) by type can be found on www.gov.je using the link below.
