Request
Can you tell me the average length of time people have waited for social housing in Jersey through the Housing Gateway over the past five years?
Can you also tell me the longest period of time a person / family has been waiting for - can you tell me what band this person / family is in?
Can you please break this down by year and band (one to six)?
Response
We are only able to provide full waiting times from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, housing offers were not recorded on our current database.
The table below shows the average waiting times for applications to the Housing Gateway waiting list. This has been broken down by their band and the year the application was made.
| Year of application and average in months |
Band | 2016 | 2017 | 2018 |
Band 1 | 8 | 11 | 14 |
Band 2 | 20 | 24 | 7 |
Band 3 | 24 | 14 | 7 |
Band 4 | 0 | 24 | 12 |
Band 5 (purchase) | 32 | 13 | 8 |
Band 6 | 16 | 12 | 4 |
