Fort Regent event cancellations (FOI)

Regarding the new restrictions on the capacity of Fort Regent, could you please provide:

A

How many events at Fort Regent have been cancelled as a result of the restrictions?

B

How much revenue has been lost due to the cancellation of these planned events?

C

How much would need to be spent bringing Fort Regent up to a standard where it would be safe as a venue for the size of events that previously took place?

D

What measures have been put in place to ensure it operates within its safe operating capacity?

A

Six events have been cancelled at Fort Regent, however, five have been relocated to alternative locations.

B

Revenue of £38,040.44 has been lost due to the cancelled events.

C

The Government of Jersey are currently inspecting the venue to establish the level and cost of work which would be required to enable large events of circa 2000 capacity. The initial estimates should be completed in May / June.

D

The emergency lighting system is being upgraded and an increased marshalling regime has been introduced during opening hours. All work is being carried out in accordance with advice received from the fire safety consultants.
