Request

Please supply the following:

A

An annual breakdown (2011 to 2019) of all financial grants made by the States of Jersey to Sanctuary Trust Limited (previously known as Caring Hands Limited between 5 November 2009 and 6 August 2014 and also known as Sanctuary Trust Jersey).

B

The latest copy of the annual accounts of Sanctuary Trust Limited that has been forwarded to the States of Jersey.

Response

A

A grant of £40,000 was made by the Chief Minister’s Department to Sanctuary Trust (then known as Caring Hands) in March 2014.

Sanctuary Trust received £40,000 from the AA Rayner bequest fund which is administered by the Treasury and Exchequer Department in 2017, and a further £40,000 in 2018. Allocations from this fund are made by a panel of Jurats, appointed by the States Assembly.

B

The government holds accounts for all organisations receiving grants but only the accounts of those in receipt of £75,000 or more are published. Others (below that threshold) are held for internal control purposes and are supplied on the understanding that they will not be published. Article 26 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 therefore applies.

Any request to see the accounts of Sanctuary Trust Limited would need to be made directly with them.
