Request

Organisations in receipt of grants from the States of Jersey submit their accounts to the States. Please kindly provide the amount provided to Jersey Finance during the years 2015, 2016 and 2017, and the annual accounts for each.

Response

The grant paid to Jersey Finance in 2017 was £5,570,000 (£4,870,000 core annual grant and £700,000 for a one-off project to support a Financial Services Strategic Review which was funded from the Economic Productivity Growth Drawdown Provision within Contingencies).

The 2017 States of Jersey Accounts will be available in June 2018, with the accounts of organisations receiving grants of over £75,000 expected to be available by the end of this year.

The grants for 2015 and 2016 are listed in the States of Jersey Accounts for those years as follows:

States of Jersey Financial Report and Accounts 2015 (starting at page 154)

States of Jersey Financial Report and Accounts 2016 (starting at page 40)

The following publications list the accounts of grant-receiving organisations that are available for inspection:

Organisations receiving grants of over £75,000: 2015 Accounts

Organisations receiving grants of over £75,000: 2016 Accounts

Note: Due to the volume of information, copies of the grant accounts are not attached to the above Reports. They can be obtained in electronic (PDF) or hard copy format from the States Assembly Information Centre, States Greffe, on the Ground Floor of Morier House. They are not provided within this response as they are available to the applicant and therefore absolutely exempt under Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

Exemption applied

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under the Law, whether or not free of charge.
