Request
Under the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 I would like to request the following information relating to the Magistrates Court:
A
After reading on the gov.je website the magistrates letter relating to Covid-19, at the bottom it states “and stakeholders” , why are stakeholders required for a court?
B
How long has there been stakeholders for the court?
C
How do you become a stakeholder, how many stakeholders are there?
D
What has been the return for the stakeholders in the past five years?
Can you please provide any further information that can be provided within the relevant time limit?
Response
A to D
The use of the word stakeholder in the request and its use in the press release from the Magistrate’s Court are both valid but different and therefore we hold no records in response to questions A to D.
We note that the Concise Oxford English Dictionary provides the following entry for “stakeholder”:
Stakeholder n. 1 an independent party with whom money or counters wagered are deposited. 2 a person with an interest or concern in something.
The request adopts the first meaning whereas the press release uses the second.
