The costs as at the end of July 2020 were £8,795,397.
B
It has been assumed that this part of the request is referring to the proposal that individuals who currently pay their tax on a prior-year basis (PYB) are transferred to paying on a current-year basis (CYB), and the potential cost of writing off the tax for the 2019 year of assessment of those individuals if this were to be agreed by the States Assembly.
The Minister for Treasury and Resources has made it clear that there is no intention – should the transfer of PYB individuals to CYB be approved – to write off this tax.
If the 2019 year of assessment tax liability of these individuals were to be written off the cost is currently estimated to be £330m.
