Response

A

The States of Jersey Police operate a full-time rota of four Force Medical Examiners (FME’s). Currently we have one additional locum for Covid resilience. In the last five years, The States of Jersey police have used nine separate FME’s in total. We do not employ custody nurses, paramedics or any other health service professionals.

B

No complaints have been received regarding the conduct of any of the FME’s for the period 2016 to November 2020.

C

No contracts have been terminated during this period.

D

Two contracts were not renewed. One owing to performance concerns over accuracy of documentation and record keeping. Nothing identified was sufficiently serious for the contract to be terminated or a referral to the GMC. One contract was not renewed due to the FME leaving the Island.

E

Information not held. Investigations are carried out as any other investigation into complaints.

F

No Information held.
