Request
Is the Government of Jersey authorising and implementing private contractors to spray anti viral fumigants on the streets in Jersey? If so, please send all the information on the products being used and where and when they are being used.
Response
The Government of Jersey (GOJ) commissioned one vehicle mounted disinfector unit as part of the 2020 Covid-19 early response preparations. JCF cleaners had also prepared two similar vehicles which could have been made available for GOJ work if required.
However, none of these were ever deployed on the streets or public areas of Jersey and were de-commissioned as the need for their use diminished.
Parishes are responsible for the cleaning the streets, roads and public areas of their Parish, therefore you might want to send your request in writing to: foi@parish.gov.je or to Parish FOI, East Wing, RJA & HS, Trinity, JE3 5JP.
