What is the monthly trends in Emergency Department (Hospital) and Orchard House Acute Admission Unit utilisation? Critical to this request is the reason or diagnosis (if given) for presenting / admission to hospital facility, the age of the patient presenting at the hospital facility, date or just month and year, the decision and or outcome following the assessment if available.
Due to the island’s population being small for statistical tests to be conducted on some uncommon conditions, The request is for a period of between 31 March 2021 going backwards to 1 March 2016 or if data is available to as far back as 1 March 2011.
The request is for a research to compare the trends between the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Isle of Man with regards to the service utilisation. There are differences in policy and strategies that could benefit the two Islands and the research could be the starting point to such lessons.
For the purposes of the research to be conducted, raw unprocessed and anonymised data will be much preferred as it will not take as much time from your data processing personnel.
Response
Due to the low numbers involved, it is not possible to disclose patient level data in a format that ensures sufficient anonymity. Therefore, this request is refused under Article 25 of the Freedom of Information Law.
