I request under the Freedom of Information Law 2011 the following information;
A.
Number of Sativex, including generic name variations, prescriptions issued from 2010 to 2015, broken down yearly.
B.
Cost of Sativex prescriptions, including generic name variations, including unit price, total cost, and presentation (ie 25ml oral spray) between 2010 ad 2015.
C.
Ailment or condition for which Sativex was prescribed on a case by case basis.
Response
Sativex is only available on private prescription.
Records of any private prescriptions dispensed will be maintained by the individual pharmacy dispensing that prescription and must be maintained for five years.
The dispensing pharmacy will keep records of the date of supply, patient, quantity supplied and name of prescribing doctor.
The pharmacy will not maintain records of the condition for which Sativex was prescribed. This would be maintained by the prescribing doctor.
No Sativex has been dispensed by the hospital pharmacy in the last five years.
