Request
How many licenses to occupy accommodation have been issued over the last three years to agricultural / horticultural businesses for staff who have been brought to work in the Island and who do not have residential qualifications?
The information that I am seeking is simply about the number of agricultural / horticultural businesses which have obtained licences for individual key staff who would not normally qualify to rent or purchase property. Such licences would enable key staff to occupy residential property presumably on a rental basis, but if they are considered essential employees it might enable them to purchase.
Response
The number of licensed permissions granted to agricultural / horticultural businesses over the last three years are as follows. An employee with licensed status is an ‘essential employee’ who can buy, sell or lease any property.
2018 - 1
2019 - 1
2020 - 0
2021 - 2
