To provide an answer to your request, we have conducted a key word search based on job titles as shown below. The department does not hold a central record of individuals’ specified job remit and it is worth noting that many staff will have aspects of diversity and inclusion and data protection in their roles. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
The below figures are based on the last full year of data for 2020.

Data Protection roles
Based on a job title key word search of ‘data protection’, the total public cost for civil servant employees in 2020 was £139,373.
The Proposition 59 report on consultancy spending details the costs of consultancy services provided in relation to these areas of work. As the information requested is accessible by other means, Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority”
For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –
(a) it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or
(b) it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
Article 23 - Information accessible to applicant by other means
Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.
A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
