I would like to know the outcome of my complaint but have been told in a letter that it is subject to Data Protection and as such the outcome will not be revealed.

I still want to know the outcome even if names are retracted, and I believe I have a right to know if my complaint was taken seriously and taken forward.

Response

All complaints received are taken seriously and are investigated thoroughly.

Following your complaint, an investigation took place and it was recognised that the officer concerned had acted in accordance with instructions that  had been given by the section management.

As a result of this the section management have amended their standard operating procedures. On this occasion no further action has been taken or deemed necessary in respect of the officers concerned.
