For an individual to be able to make 'informed' consent, evidence-based information is readily available in multiple formats to islanders. This is not limited to the website-based information, it also includes Manufacturer Vaccine Information Leaflets, social media messages and verbal discussions between the individual attending for vaccination and vaccinator regarding risks and benefits.

For consent in relation to children, the school children's programme is as follows:

  • Email via education to parents of children eligible with contact details for any questions and informing them to expect an envelope from school containing:
  • Parental letter with reasons why to vaccinate your child. 
  • Information leaflet with website address for further information, contact telephone number for queries, list of ingredients etc:

  • Consent form advising parents to read the leaflet before completing the form
