Request
Please provide details of costs per month and number of boxes of codeine phosphate purchased by Jersey General Hospital over the last three years.
Response
The department can confirm that it holds this information. However, the cost price of codeine is commercially sensitive to the Health and Social Services Department and its suppliers.
The information is therefore exempt under Article 33 of the Freedom of Information law.
Having considered the public interest, the department has decided to withhold the cost per month of codeine as this would be likely to prejudice the department’s ability to obtain codeine at the best price.
However, after consultation with the applicant, the department will release the quantity purchased each month and this information is provided in the spreadsheet below.
