Request

A

Further to the multi-morbidity report from the data collected from GP's I would like a breakdown of the demographics for people who suffer from Hypertension.

B

I would like the demographics of those who suffer from Hypertension and another chronic condition.

Response

A

“Demographics” is a broad term. The demographic data held in the Jersey Quality Improvement Framework (JQIF) registers, is age and gender. The age and gender breakdown for those on the hypertension register can be found on page 5 of the 2021 multi-morbidity report. As the information is accessible by other means, Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Multi-morbidity 2021 (gov.je)

B

As above, the only demographic data held in the JQIF registers is age and gender. The table below shows the break down for those on the Hypertension register who have at least one other morbidity.

Table.pdf

The “other morbidities” considered are only those specified in the Jersey Quality Improvement Framework (JQIF), further details of the disease registers are available in the above link.

The figures provided are for the number of males and females in each five-year age group, who appear on the hypertension JQIF register and who also appear on at least one other JQIF morbidity register, at year end 2021. Numbers have been rounded to the nearest five.
