Were any of the batches identified as infected blood by UK authorities supplied to the Jersey Health service and administered by hospital teams to any patients treated for any reason on the island of Jersey during the period 1975 through to 1995?
Response
Prior to 1992, Jersey General Hospital utilised blood products from the UK National Blood Transfusion Service, and its associated manufacturing arm, BioProducts Laboratory.
The subject of contaminated UK blood products and Jersey’s use of blood products from the UK National Blood Transfusion Service and its associated manufacturing arm, BioProducts Laboratory, has been addressed in Ministerial Questions, as linked in a Freedom of Information response published in July 2022 on www.gov.je:
