Response
A
The table below shows the count of admissions under a specialty of Clinical Oncology, Medical Oncology or Clinical Haematology for 2022. The figures include Inpatient admissions, Day Case admissions and Regular Day Admissions of both public and private patients.
It is not currently possible to identify how many admissions under a specialty other than Clinical Oncology, Medical Oncology or Clinical Haematology may be directly related to care or treatment for cancer, and patients admitted under a different specialty are not included in the data.
These figures represent patients who have commenced systemic anti-cancer therapy, but would exclude those receiving exclusively oral chemotherapy in an outpatient setting, as this does not constitute an admission.
