Request
On 2 May 2023 Deputy Stephenson announced a review into Jersey Sport –
Review Of Sport in Jersey (gov.je)
I was shocked to hear that oral submissions had already been made to the review author Mr Simon Cooper by invited individuals before this date. This, I am told is the only opportunity for people to make oral submissions to Mr Cooper.
A
Who was invited by the Deputy to make oral submissions to Mr Cooper?
B
Who has made oral submissions to Mr Cooper?
Response
Mr Cooper visited Jersey in the week beginning 24th April to meet with as many key sport stakeholders as time would allow. This is the start of a wide-ranging consultation process which will include a request for written submissions from any interested party including sports organisations.

B
The same set of organisations and sports as listed above (with the exception of Bowls, who did not respond) made oral submissions to Mr Cooper.
The wider consultation will be available for submissions in early June and will provide the option for respondents representing sports groups or other organisations in the Island to provide contact information, so they can make an oral submission to Mr Cooper, further to their written submission.
