Please provide the following onformation regarding the Department of Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture?

A

What is the wage ratio of permanent staff within the department?

B

What is the median salary of permanent staff within the department?

C

What is the salary of the Chief Officer or Director (top official) within the department?

Please note that Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture no longer exists as a department, therefore information can only be provided for the Department for Economy.

Some of the information requested may be held by Jersey Sport and Visit Jersey, however, it should be noted that both Visit Jersey and Jersey Sport are not Scheduled Public Authorities (SPAs), therefore, they are not required to respond under Freedom of Information legislation. You may wish to contact these entities directly, contact details have been provided below.

Information is not held relating to the wage ratio within the Department for the Economy. The Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 does not require a SPA to create new data sets specifically for this purpose, therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Median salary of permanent staff is £85,476.52.

Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority”

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –

(a)     it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or

(b)     it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.

Article 23 - Information accessible to applicant by other means

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
