Please supply the underlying data that was used to calculate the % of the grades mentioned, for example the numbers of A level papers marked at Grade A* in Each jurisdiction.

Please explain the sources of the Jersey and UK data that were used.

Please note and explain any excluded results data, for example, if a student completed coursework, but then withdrew from the exam, was this classed as a E or U, or was that result excluded? Or please declare that this was trivial in this context.

Please supply any data or analysis that you may have on quantities of A level papers sat per student, versus England, or make a statement that this is work in progress, or not.

Please produce copies of any analysis presented to Minsters or officials at director level or above, explaining why the Jersey results are seemingly inferior to those of England, or explain that this is work in progress.

Total number of A Levels: 1,424.
Please not that these A Level results are provisional, pending appeals. Further analysis will be completed in the spring term of 2024, once final results have been received.

Source for Jersey data is (i) extracted from the government schools’ management system (SIMS), (ii) supplied grades breakdown by the private schools (Beaulieu and De La Salle) and supplied overall percentage by Highlands.

The pass grades for A Levels are, from highest to lowest, A*, A, B, C, D and E.
Those who do not reach the minimum standard required for a grade E receive the non-grade U (unclassified).
Students who have failed to complete any of the subjects' components will receive an X, which is not reported in line with England. None of the Government of Jersey schools reported any X grades.

Students sat on average 2.6 A Levels (total number of A Levels of 1,424 divided by a total of 541 students).
