The States of Jersey Police continue to use the 4E (engage, explain, encourage, enforce) approach when dealing with people who use E-Scooters, anywhere except on private land.
However, the police do, when deemed proportionate, seize scooters as evidence for prosecution of offences under the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956 and the Motor Vehicle Registration (Jersey) Law 1993.
