Please confirm the following annual statistics on water consumption procured by Government of Jersey departments from Jersey New Waterworks Company Limited for the last 12 years:
A
i) Tariff standing and price in pence/M3 for mains water supply
ii) Quantity of mains water consumed in M3, (3) total sum of invoices paid.

If consumption on an unmeasured basis as opposed to mains metered supply,:
i) Standing charge
ii) Total sum of invoices paid
C
Total sum paid for water consumed by all Governemnt of Jersey departments.

It is estimated that to undertake the work required to locate, collate and report on 12 years of data which is to be broken down by department, quantity of invoices as well as pricing would exceed the 12.5 hours maximum time limit as prescribed in the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014, therefore Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

This information is not held by the Government of Jersey. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

The figures for 2020 to 2021 which were corrected in the 2022 ARA report to the figures represented in the table provided as part of this response.

Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority”
For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –
(a) it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or
(b) it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
Article 16 - A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive
(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.
