Please provide details on how much the data protection conference being hosted in Jersey next year is going to cost in total, and how much of this will be funded by the taxpayer (either directly or indirectly through Government of Jersey grant funding to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner).

Please can you also advise as to why the particular dates were chosen to coincide with half term week when surely hospitality is also likely to benefit?

This event is organised and managed by the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC) which is an independent organisation, therefore the information requested is not held by the Government of Jersey. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –

(a)     it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or

(b)     it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
