Request
With regard to Deputy Montfort Tadier's dressing up on YouTube and calling himself Lord Reginald Hamilton Rawley Tooting-Jones III. - Chairman of Jersey Ultra-Conservative Party (JUP), which I presume is a childish swipe at any Jersey Voter who Deputy Tadier sees as Middle to Right WIng, as from his parody Twitter account he evidently dislikes the UK Conservative Party and any local politician he sees in the same light, I would like to know what Codes of Conduct there are, if any, when there is a situation of a Jersey Politician making a complete fool of themselves online thereby putting the States of Jersey into disrepute?
Response
The Code of Conduct for elected members of the States appears as Schedule 3 to the Standing Orders of the States of Jersey, available at the following link:
https://www.jerseylaw.je/laws/revised/Pages/16.800.15.aspx
Paragraph 1 of the Code of Conduct states that “all elected members are required, in accordance with standing orders, to comply with this code.”
Deputy Tadier is an Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture. In addition to the Code of Conduct for Elected Members, all Ministers and Assistant Ministers must also comply with the Codes of Conduct and Practice for Ministers and Assistant Ministers, available at the following link:
