Please advise how many internal and external complaints have been made against the Jersey Fire and Rescue Service in the past five years?

Please show figures broken down into types of complaint?

Response

Complaints are recorded by the Staes of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (SJFRS) in different ways. Since 2019, external complaints are recorded in the Government of Jersey’s  Customer Feedback Management System (CFMS). 

Please see attached table for details.

Further breakdown by type of complaint cannot be provided as this information could lead to identification of individuals. Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Article 25 - Personal information 

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005. 

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if – 

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005; and 

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law. ​
